thought we were gonna talk about ceramic guns ....

I've never lived in an area where a metal detector would do much good.
Think For Yourself. Question Authority. Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.

I have owned many from over $1500 and have found that the most simple featured ones under $500 (when you know what your doing) is the best .
First and foremost is that you have to have a very light one , if you intend to go at it like I do (all day long).
A headset designed for the detector you get is a must .
Not all headsets are equal in this field.
And a endless supply of the best battery's you can get .
I usually replace battery's every day and sometimes twice, if I'm at it hard.

And believe me that they need to be balanced properly as to keep from killing your arm at the end of the day.
Out of all I've owned I like this one best ...

At only 2.2 pound you will never get tired of using it.
It is only $189.00 . you can't go wrong for your first and maybe the last .
                  It goes with me everywhere.

                  Just my 2 cents.

One of the largest ever finds of Roman coins in Britain has been made by a man using a metal detector.

                      Have a look at this!

There is a reward payable to him & the landowner split 50/50. Yeah, I would've kept quiet too but how can you shift in excess of 52,000 Roman coins without being rumbled?

Well ! I've found many a civil war buttons and buckles.
Gold neckless'es, rings and a couple of gold coins .
But nothing I would call a great find.

Last year I found a strong box in a old creek that was filled with silver dollars and miscellaneous silver US coins.

It was near a major highway and I think it had been stolen and tossed in the creek , but they never came back for it.
