I'm not sure what implications finasteride would have on test levels as it's a DHT blocker. Personally since I don't know the correct answer, I would wait six weeks.

tell your doctor your on it and they should be able to adjust... i beleive on average it can show 20% more testosterone in your system if i remember correctly. any reason, looking for trt?

Thanks fellas Lifts that is pretty much what I figured as well to play safe. No specific reason other then to see overall health. HA if my T is very low though yeah I would def consider jumping on for life.

You would be amazed at how little doctors know about our lifestyle. A friend of mine was in a similiar situation and recommended a highly regarded Endocrinologist. I really need to find a doctor who specializes in the weight lifting area as well just being an Endo. My friend had an appointment before me and mentioned the finasteride to both the doctor and lab neither thought it would interfere with the results but that did not make any sense to me from my limited knowledge about the endo system. Maybe I need to find a different doc.

Cowboy to be honest it is really hard to answer that question. Hair loss sucks and I am extremely jealous of those that can use and never lose a thing. Or even those that are comfortable just shaving it off. I fall into the category of obsessing about it to the point of studying my hairline etc. HAHA obviously it has been better as I’ve dealt with it through the years. Here is what I can tell you from my experience Rogaine was to much of a pain in the ass for me to use everyday. So several years ago I jumped on propecia and use nizoral shampoo. You ask me if it works? Well here is the catch. I don’t know. Simply because I have no idea what my hair would look like if I had not taken it all of these years. I am almost 30 and most would still consider me to have pretty thick hair. So who truly knows? The comfort I get in taking it thinking that it has worked all of these years has been a good thing for me though. I’ve been off of it for about 7 weeks now and my scalp has been really itchy along with some pretty bad shedding not sure if it’s a coincidence or it was actually working. Im also very concerned what the long term use can do to my health. There is so much conflicting data out there. Assuming it has been working I am now trying to decide if having hair is worth the health risk? Depending on what my blood work says ill decide if im going to jump back on. ( I should mention I have experienced no external side effects dick still works sex drive is normal etc. What it is doing in the inside is what I dont know)

              Hi,
              Let me define Finasteride first...
Proscar is a type of Finasteride and is used alone and also in combination with another medication which is called doxazosin [Cardura] to treat BPH an abbreviation of benign prostatic hypertrophy. Thanks
