    hurt shoulder

i hurt my shoulder about a week ago, and the doc said that i strained something really bad, it felt VERY tender, and soft, and hurt like a bitch - what do you think i did - it hurt - if i were to do a front bicept pose, i would not be able to rotate my arm in that position, up up lateral to my side as well. it was mainly my front deltoid area - and cuff i felt the pain

what are the most common types of shoulder injuries that occur among weighlifters? and how long do they usual last - if anyone has anything about what i can do/should do about it - let me know - thanks

hey bro, i just went through almost exactly what you are going through. i spent a week going to doctors and specialists, x-rays, and MRI's. my doc told me that i had possibly tore some tendons. he told me to rest for about 2 weeks and then start getting active again, but slowly. i waited a good week, and then went back, but took things real light and slow. i recomend rest and maybe a heating pad for atleast a week, otherwise it might nag you for a while. in the mean time, you could do legs and cardio. good luck, hope things work out for you

Injury at the intersection of the bicep tendon into the rotator cuff is quite common. You may need an mri because if you did some real damege the longer you wait, often the worse off you will be.
