    Grenada Eyes...

Just a caveat, I have never been to Grenada, or Panama, but to other places. Some were pristine, where springs gurgled and pungent pines clung hastily to the rocks. They say the upper tributaries of Northern Minnesota forming the Mississippi run swift and clear. I can say the bass are hungry there and mosquitoes fat. I donated blood while canoeing the eddies and dropping hooks, but in the swill, clear thoughts give way to muddied waters with bacteria so thick you can make a paste of it, and not the good kind... As my mind wandered again through some of the cesspools I'd entrenched I vaguely heard my name... "Baxter, Hey Baxter, report to the CO, immediately!" ("Oh great, now what," I thought?) Off in motion to a different kind of swill, Officer Kind! "Baxter," he said, "it's been brought to my attention you have not taken leave in months, yet you're gone most of the time and rumors are flying." "The long and short of it is the IG and his people are spending a week on the base and I don't want you within a hundred miles. I can't afford anyone talking or even seeing you without being squeezed in a jam, so I cut you orders for 3 weeks out!"

"But Sir, won't this compromise my stand by orders?" "Nobody cares about whatever orders you may or may not have, Baxter, and we don't want anyone to ask any questions, I am issuing you no written orders, just giving you an 1863; Permission to travel Space Available. You have no orders so you will be the last class and can be bumped off the flight by just about anybody. What I do know is there are going to be six planes leaving the base by noon tomorrow, and you will be on one of them, destination unknown, and keep it that way! Don't show your face around here for 3 weeks minimum, understood?" "Yes Sir," and off I went...

How would the ig know where you were or werent, when you were or weren't and if you were or weren't where you're supposed to be? And why would he care?

^ Ditto it's one thing for ur CO to be mad at you about something but whatever this rumor mill stuff is I don't understand why the IG would of been informed about rumors on a base...Weird. Is there a history of you getting shit from this guy and he's just taking advantage of an opportunity to fuck with you?

I can't figure out how this relates to having vagina spread across your torso.

Maybe that's where he was. At the cat house.

Several years after this I showed up at Chanute AF base for jet engine school. I gave the billeting Sergeant my orders. He said, "I can't accept these, you have to go back!" "No way I'm going back, I drove 13 hours to get here, besides, I'm low on gas and almost broke, why can't I stay?" He said, "Here's the problem, you're a Staff Sergeant." "So what's the big deal, I just re-enlisted in the Air Force for another six years!" "You don't understand," he said, "the highest ranking NCO in the Company is a Sergeant, you outrank everybody!" "What does that mean," I asked? "It means you can't exist, you can't be Company Commander because that Sergeant position is filled by an active duty person on permanent station. You can't be in the barracks because you'll outrank everybody, just can't be!" "Listen," I said, "I'm here for school and I'm not going back, I didn't make this problem!" "OK," he said, " I can put you in visitor's quarters, but you can't go around the barracks, for any reason, no formations, no marching, nothing but school. No roommate and don't tell anyone what you're doing. Keep it to yourself, and lastly, you don't have any duty either. Just stay to yourself, that way I won't have to answer any questions!" True story.

I am not going to read this book unless there is sex and murder.

I'm not reading it unless the two things happen simultaneously.
