    Grandkids and Working Out

So, my grandkids come over every other Saturday. I live out in the country so I try to get them outside as much as possible. And it's better for grandma with early dementia.
Anyway, with it being cooler I've been building them fires near my weight benches so I can watch them and workout at the same time.
My 8 year old grandson wanted to help me today, so i said come on you can count reps for me. Today was bench day. Not normally but I've been sore so i waited for the pain to diminish.
I put 135 on to warm up. He's asking me if I'm going to lift all that. I laughed banged out 25. Put 225 on banged out 20. 315, he says grandpa I'm worried about you. Are you going to try to lift that? I said I hope so. So I knock out 10 reps. Add two more plates, 405 now. He says grandpa please dont do that, I'm scared. I told him it would be ok. But he went inside and got got grandma to stop me from hurting myself. I'm telling him I'm fine, but he says your face was really red the last time. I tell him it'ssupposed to be. So I hit 8 reps at 405. He was wow! Grandpa is strong. He's hollering at his dad, my youngest son, and his older brother and little sister, saying, Dad, grandpa is the strongest man in the world. My son told him maybe not the strongest man, but he's very strong for sure. You dont get a body like that without being strong!
So I'm just letting all of you know, I'm the strongest man in the world. And I've got a great body. If you dont think so, ask.my grandkids. So there!

Great story. Those weights & #'s for your age is insane, and damn impressive for any age.

I don't go over 405 any more. 567.5 was all time best. Now in early 60's I hurt too long. Not too bad, but I stay sore longer. I'm really old!

I'd be lucky if I ever touch weight like that. Only 100lbs to go lol.

Love reading post like this. Keep it up Old Timer! Hope to still be repping 405 when I’m your age!
