My childhood phone number was 987. No shit when I was a kid you would pick up the phone and an operator would say number please, just like Mayberry. My friend's family owned a grocery store where he worked his number at the store was 1. I was in my early teens before my dial phones were introduced in my area. My phone number was still 987.

I think the farmer guy had to climb to the top of the telephone pole to get to the phone.

There is a youtube video that is asking millennials to demonstrate how to use a rotary phone that is hilarious. They are stymied.
The older I get the better I used to be.Comment

I remember when I was a little kid my grandma had what is known as a "party line" which is a phone line shared by multiple households (she lived in a 3 family house). It was something...“You take the blue pill — the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill — you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” - Morpheus (from the Matrix)Comment
