    Lab grown meat

Anyone else happen to read about this? Idk how I feel about it other than it boggled my mind. They take a muscle cell from an animal and grow more in a lab in a petri dish and make it into a patty or meatballs or chicken breast. It's pretty amazing but I would think it would have to be heavily supplemented with vitamins and fatty acids but still. There's a company called Memphis meats that's doing this. The fact you can have meat without killing an animal is really tripping my mind. Gives a whole new meaning to beef farmer.

I would think it would be cheaper to grow meat the old fashion way?

Seems like it would be. This could be good for people like astronauts on long missions some day. Since they don't kill the animal, we could get some super exotic meats then, like bald eagle and people. I can't imagine the texture and flavor being the same though.

Hell no! Unless it's on four legs or two legs I'm not eating it.

Not necessarily considering the farmers don't have control of their own products any longer. A small private local farmer does, but those farmers aren't relying on it as their main source of income. Big commercial farmers are run by giant corporations and their is a lot of animals to raise, feed, transport, slaughter, all which have cost associated with it whereas lab grown meat you're basically just paying the lab employees. And technically you could add necessary nutrients to the lab grown meat that would normally be deficient in regular meat. I honestly still don't think I would eat it. It just kinda skeeves me out.

Another thing I was thinking, is if they can grow more muscle in a petri dish, what are they giving it? Because I want some. That way I could just be jacked without working out.
