I think the t3 assisted in keeping the weight down. Since you've been on it a long time it's probable your body grew dependent on it and now you have low natural levels.
Hbp meds and anti anxiety meds can cause weight gain. Some more than others.
Personally, the older I've gotten, the harder it is for me to lose weight.

So, have you looked at changing what you eat vs how much? Because changing x cups of rice for x cups of green beans will make a huge difference. Or zucchini and squash with some mushrooms and peppers...
