Off Cycle Cutting
Let's talk workout strategies for retaining muscle and strength. Cutting some fat, willing to do it slow... what do you do? Sets of 5? Compound lifts only? Accessory stuff and only one heavy lift a day..?
Help me get lean so I can bulk again! |

Cardio immediately post resistance training. Keep your workouts simple. Target 8-15 reps. 4-5 exercises. Focus on movements, not weights. Aim for 45-75 mins then hit the cardio equipment for 30-45 mins. Your metabolism is already up from weights, therefore, leads you to fat burning mode when doing cardio. This is the best time. Keep protein intake high and carbs low to moderate. If you can do this early in day, comeback later to do 30-45 mins cardio again, if you like. It depends on your physical activity throughout the day...

REally tough especially when hypogonadal. The first 3 weeks getting off AAS you look like you are getting leaner as the water leaves. Shortly after that muscle loss increases pace. If you can recover, say after 12 weeks, you can diet as normal and make progress. Before that it's nealy impossible IMO. If you stay hypogonadal it's really really tough.

Well I've been done with my PCT for a while, I feel the libido returning, etc., so I'm approaching that state.

Lift the same as you always did, cardio after lifting, lower calories. Your lifting to maintain muscle not to burn fat.

Ha ha, no guys... my point is, I've never really "cut" cut before because I've never needed to because I'm a naturally lanky dude.

I'm not getting it, like others I guess haha. You say your skinny/lanky and don't need to cut, so why cut then? Sounds like you need to add some mass right? Remember the cliche - a skinny guy with abs is like a fat chic with tits - it DON'T COUNT!

What I'm saying is, I'm naturally lanky, have built muscle for some time, but in all the years never felt the need to really cut before. But now that I do, I'd like some advice as to how I can train to preserve as much muscle as possible while I do.
