    Daughter swam first time today

It was such a cool feeling, watching our 4 year old daughter today.
She kicked off my leg toward her mother (who was about eight feet away) and when she came out of the water at her mom, she shot her hands up and said, "I can swim!" That was really great.
    It was her Independance Day.

She was wearing a swimming mask and liked that she could see where she was going under water. I taught her how to hold her breath and kick. She is beginning to pull. She was so happy she told anyone around who would listen and said, "Watch me swim!"
    A very cool kid indeed.

Last month I told her my ancesters were from the North Sea, around the Netherlands. I told her this area had flooded for many years and the people who lived there were the ones who learned how to swim, so that it was in her blood.
One time she said, "Hey dad, I know what happened to the people who didn't know how to swim." I thought she would get morbid on me but asked anyway, "What?"
She said, "They went to France."
    So now you know...
