    Easy slin pin fill

Hey guys/gals, this is going to be a simple thread on filling slin pins with oil. It doesn't matter if the oil is thick, thin, heated or not heated.

I can only do one pic per post so there will be 3 posts to start the thread.

After you put the pin in the vial and push the air in with the plunger, pull the plunger almost all the way out until it locks. If you pull it out too far, you will lose the seal so make sure you stop or you will have to replunge.

After the plunger is locked, open up a drawer just a little, put it in and walk away.

Handy trick, oil takes so damn long to go through slin pins even when heated.

I've been doing it for a while. We were discussing slins on another board so I started a thread and posted it at a few places.

              Rep!

I think I seen your post on another board about this awhile back. I tried it and eazy-peezy! Much better than holding that thing up for 5+ minutes.

I didn't realize I posted it before. I've been doing it for a while though.

I am way too picky about sterility to do that. I would have to slather the entire drawer down with alcohol. I wash my hands, swab the counter top where I will place my vials then I swab the vials and vial tops, just so there is no cross contamination. Working with hazardous materials makes one conscious of how easily there is contaminant transfer. No abscesses for me thanks....
The older I get the better I used to be.

I just backfill. Takes about a minute to do 5 pins.

I certainly wouldn't say this method of filling pins is for you then. I like it, simple and gives me time to whip up a protein shake while they fill
