Any of you guys fighters as well?
I began training boxing and muay thai. I took a loss my first fight in thailand against a guy 4kgs heavier who didn't make weight at 85kgs. looking to get in another fight at 85kg again for my 2nd amateur fight.

Nice man. Takes balls no matter what to step inside the ring or octagon. I dabbled into jiu jitsu and some competitions. Never a fight though. I did help a few guys prep for a fight on the ground work. Choke is our man guy here.

Retired... for now until my knees grow younger. Age 9 to 55 judo. Boxing as a teen. Advice from an older man, stretch daily. it will keep you functional late into the game.

Well, I'm a cage fighter, but I've never been in one. My best moves were from Street Fighter II.

Yep. Well... I was. Had my first MMA fight in 1993, although it was called "No Holds Barred" back then. I was in the Army, and a Karate black belt. I got my ass whooped by a Muay Thai guy that had wrestling experience. So I started training with him about two weeks after that ass whoopin.
Most fights back in the day were held in the academy's. But towards the late 90's, rings and cages at actual venues became the norm. I fought often. I even did Level 2 Kali fight, which if you know what Kali is, then you know one of the weapons used a lot is a rattan fucking stick. And L2 fights are MMA fights, with fucking sticks. Now, we did wear street hockey gloves, and head and face protection that look like heavy duty fencing headgear. Taking a step back, I also did Muay Thai fights. My Kru once I got off active duty (and still is), is one of the few American's that know and can teach "old style" Muay Thai. And I also trained with Manu Ntoh (I also gave him a place to live), who is one of the few people to score knock outs with both legs in Lumpini Stadium. My last MMA fight was in 2002. I've coached, taught and continued training. I also train a little differently due to having had a job that required putting in a little gray area work. |

One big struggle I have right now is switching to western boxing from months of muay thai and training in thailand. You would think they would be the same, but how you fight and especially my stance is way off sometimes and I don't even notice it.

I used to much more in my twenties. Not so much anymore with my business, and goals change as time goes on. Been there done that basically. For a significant time too. trained since I was 12 kick boxing. Started training muay thai at 18 and did that for 9 years consistently. Did jiu jitsu for a few years also when not training muay thai. I loved fighting. I still kick it every now and then but not like I used to.
