I got 5 pairs of black Copperfit knee-hi compression socks and they do very well for leg days.

Higher compression levels get very hard to put on, especially thigh length. Thigh length also tend to slip down, so I'd go for the kind with little rubber grippers on the inside or even a garter belt type setup. Probably not necessary unless you have a medical condition. They can get pretty pricy and I've never had a pair hold up for very long.

Lighter compression levels are pretty handy. When I used to have long car rides for sporting events I'd put on my compression tights and they cut out that dead/heavy feeling in the legs. Didn't notice much while exercising/competing.

The copperfits I have are light so they are no problem putting them on and taking them off. I get good calf support from them on leg days.
