    The CHANGE!!!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wish we had more active female members so I could get an athletic womans perspective on this..

Wifey is pre menopausal, nasty frequent hot flashes, weird mood swings all the worst sides...

My wife is a cardio monster, last week she logged 30 miles jogging, walks the
dog twice a day 1.5 mi each time. Does pilates twice a week, yoga twice a week, lifts with me twice a week... this has been her regimen for a couple years now....While I'm with her I cook clean and low cal, Because we shop together and because I see it disappear I know when I am at work see eats fruit, vegetables and clean protein her fats come from protein, peanut butter and cheese. We don't have crap snacks in the house, no soda no fruit juices.... she drinks about 1 gal water a day, she will have a glass of wine with dinner, an occasional beer, no hard liquor. we figure her calories in are 20c, 50p, 30f in macros totaling about 1200 to 1300 a day and threw all this she added almost 10# in the last 2 weeks...she is crushed, I don't know if the low is even lower because of her stage in life...

her thyroid panel came back at just below mid line for normal. Her "time of month" is so random it goes from 15 days to 60 days, sometimes she gets the "feeling" that its gonna happen and then never does. lately its really really strong when she does..... sorry about the gory details but I'm trying to put as much info as I can think of in the post.

I'm looking for advice, work out wise, diet wise anything to help her thru this.

I'm 60 now, my wife is 64 now. She's never been one who works out. She's tried but just never got into fitness.
Now, the menopause thing and gaining weight. It's hormonal and will balance out. Look in the general section under AB'S thread asking about motorcycles. I posted a pic of my old lady in a thong. She's going to balance out hormonal after a while and then it will be better than ever.
Imagine living with a woman who never has periods, no pms, and can still sex you up like a banshee!

You said your wife is pre menopausal, she could be entering her change that would explain a lot. I would have her see a specialist in this area. Also with the amount of cardio she does I think upping carbs some and lowering fats would be best for her.

She is tall for a chick. I would suggest hormone therapy too. My wife is starting pre menopause at 46 now

I can already see that your right...how long does this last??? she has had the "flow" symptoms now for almost 2 weeks with nothing moving.

The mood swings are rough, but instead of getting nasty and bitchy she goes from happy to sad at the drop of the wrong phrase.... I can take her being mad and crabby, it's hard to take her sad all the time. the other day a commercial came on tv that showed a young mom and daughter, she started balling, I think its because she see's part of her "womanhood" is dying but she wont say......thanks for letting me vent....

For Eli and me we went through it for 3 or 4 years I think.
When our sons would hear her car pull up into the yard, before I built our house, they would run out the back door and go to a friends house until supper. She walked in the door yelling and bitching about the house, the yard, name it, it pissed her off.
