Your statement appears to be correct. Here is what I found:

DETECTION AND IDENTIFICATION OF ANABOLIC STEROID RESIDUES IN TISSUE
        BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY:

Survey of steroid residues in tissue requires suitable analytical strategy assuring minimal performance in term of a and b risks, with a balance between efficient purification technique, sensitive and specific measurement, and productiveness/cost.

Today, combination of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry allows control laboratories to screen for growth promoter residues in complex biological matrices at the ppt range and to identify unambiguously these ultra traces. The analytical procedure presented herewith proposed the detection of 23 steroids in meat and liver on a quadrupolar mass spectrometer below 100 ppt, and their identification according to the 93/256/EC directive thanks to high resolution measurement.
