Embarrassing incline bench

I tired some incline bench today, 1st time in over 2 years. The new shoulder was crunchy, scared me a bit so all I could muster was a whopping 90lbs. I used to easily rep 315. I guess that's in the past. I'm happy that I had no pain, not sure what the crunchy crap is all about but I can grow from here I guess.

BPP,

Did you have surgery on your shoulder? If so, what procedure?

I have a video of me in my prime doing 720 on the hammer incline for 3 reps. Now I am lucky to get 405. I feel your pain.

I had my shoulder redone in 03 and it is better now than it was before. It will improve with work and you will get stronger my friend.

It has been years since I've done barbell flat bench. My shoulders scream when I see one going heavy flat bench. Dumbbells never an issue but barbell, no more, period. In the past, it had always given me shoulder pain, unless I was on deca. Now, barbell incline, I can go all day, super heavy, and not have an issues, whatsoever...

I had rotator cuff repair of a 80% tear and then some big bone spurs. It was not a very good surgery. I've recently discovered bpc-157 which has done wonders for the pain. I don't get what the crunchy shit is though, its right on the front of the delt which is about the only place the doc didn't cut.

Then hernia surgery.......

Complete pec tear 1998, I never go heavy with a straight bar on flat bench and would only hit the incline once in awhile.

I feel good today, so we'll see how it goes.

I in recent past was doing the heavy flat bench for power. Over t bf e past 2 or 3 years my strength has slowly declined. But now my shoulders always feel like they are half way out of socket. Painful doesn't begin to describe it. I wouldn't worry about the numbers any more and just focus on looks and muscle conditioning.

BBP,

How long since surgery? I have had that slightly scary crunchiness too, only with heavier weights. It is better all the time. It is almost completely gone now except for today I went to Golds and did a fly machine. I could definitely feel it on that motion but even by the end of my sets it had dissipated. It think it is likely some scarring and fibrous tissue that leads to this. I feel no pain from it. I am pleased with my surgery. I also went with 157 post surgery and I am convinced it helped.
