      More warm ups. Moderate weights. Now I use more supersets & trisets for stimulation. Also my rest periods I 've made shorter.

        since i am quite a bit older, i have changed the structure of my workouts and only work each bodypart once a week. this seems to work well for me, allowing me to really push the bodypart and allow plenty of time for recovery.

          I'm mid 40s I hate to say this but I never have warm up or strecthing ,,,That isn't good.but I've done if for years.I always do 12-10-8-6 ,I'm in the gym for 30-45 minutes.

            Yes, I have found that after 40, I need to train appropriate to my body and not to over do it. Its amazing how things change. I have aches and pains all the time and became carb sensative too.. I had to rethink a competition diet because my body changed so much after not competing for a few years then jumping back in.
