Perhaps due to new regulations I bet. So much for anonymously depositing cash to your BTC wallet.

There is none and never was, LE could always track BTC transactions.

You are one hundred percent correct. Even in the early days of BTC child porn weirdo’s we’re being tracked and busted through bitcoin.

True, and a bitcoin ATM asking for info up front does seem to become the norm now. I happened to check one near me this morning and yes it prompts me to enter my details.

              I don't know about that.

5-6 years ago I would use BTC atm with just a burner phone number and a bogus name to deposit straight to a hardwallet. How would they track that?

It just depends on if the hardwallet was registered to you or not.

I believe Ms Wetback is referring to people linked to the sending and receiving wallets.

Ah I got you. That makes sense.

Yeah my hardwallet isn't registered to anyone so I couldn't see how it could be tracked.

Ya, I remember a lot about people thinking they were anonymous in the beginning but weren't because they were tied to their wallets.

I have a couple not tied to myself either

this is a fed regulation thing.

look into "whirlpool" and the samourai wallet (that's not misspelled) and you can clean your btc.

keep in mind, it's not hard to create a new btc wallet that has no paper trail tied to you.

if anyone knows anything about website creation/coding, and wants to talk about setting something up so we can make our btc anonymous... PM me!
