Man, tough one! IMO, it depends on what we approach we take (what we do) ON cycle.
If we've used hCG on cycle and kept E2 low with an AI during or at the end: Clomid and an AI (if needed) for a "bare bones" PCT.
This way, Testes are in shape and E2 is low, before coming off. So, no negative feedback post cycle. Clomid gets the Hypo/Pit firing and just continues to signal the Testes, which are already prepped, and off we go.
If we did not use an AI or hCG on cycle: hCG/AI/Clomid and more time.
Testes are not up to par, LH/FSH signalling will be delayed if E2 is high (or just from being shut down).
If I had to choose only one: Clomid. Disinhibition of Hypothalamus/Pituitary post cycle, Lower E2 surge than with hCG (so, less negative feedback) and Clomid is (to my knowledge) the only compound that acts to balance the Test:E2 ratio with longer term use. -

I use armoasin, clomid, and a natural test booster in pct. I run 12.5 mg aromasin ed and 250iu hcg through out the cycle.Comment
