post hernia surgery (frustrating recovery)
short of the long. What felt like strained abs turned out to be hernia(s). Went on for weeks. Initially PCP/sports med doc said he couldn't feel a protrusion of my gut. So did some PT, still fn hurt. Finally, Ultrasound assisted in the diagnosis. I was sick of the pain and limitations, so told the surgeon "let do this" to surgery. That was early Aug 2019. Damn, this has been a LONG frustrating recovery. I can run again, but in terms of ab / core work, fn forget about it. I've done some light hex deads and very light lower ab activation, but if I do any direct ab activation, I quickly get that feeling of: "don't do that...or i'll completely screw-up again"
Back tracking. Never could trace what caused the hernias. Just crept on. Bi lateral inguinal and she (woman surgeon) said umbilical too (at first sight) . I got them all repaired. Davinci Robotic This is a board about harcore lifting. Definitely has to be some other experiences. How'd it go?? |

I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago, that recovery went quickly.
