5 Questions u should ask your underground “lab” if you want to stay safe and healthy

Written by chimera labs and Reliable1

It seems that everyone who can buy steroids these days thinks that they are qualified to MAKE them. Some college kid sees a recipe on a forum somewhere, finds a powder source, gets some vials, needles, a cap-m-quick if he is ambitious and BA from some online site catering to home brewers. Then he opens a local PO box to get his supplies and your money, sets up an “anonymous” email and viola! he declares himself a big time UnderGroundLab. Then, because he doesn’t really have anything to offer above all the other kiddies that are also trying to sell some gear, they try to almost give it away to compete with each other for your business. Sounds like a buyers dream, right?

Well, not exactly. With the explosion of UGLs in the last 2-3 years has also come an equal rise in infections that were incredibly rare when everyone used human grade gear. Yet now, finding someone who had to go to the hospital to get antibiotics or worse is as easy as going to any forum. Then, there have been a lot more cases of bunk gear or misdosed or even something that was completely different than what you (and your UGL) thought it was supposed to be. Indeed, IP of China, whose gear, for many years used to be a running joke, now looks like a luxury brand compared to most of these new labels that are popping up every day.

Perhaps most importantly, few of these UGL’s have a money or supply system that will outlast even a precursory view of the police and many compound their problems by selling locally to get their business going. Most will be busted or shut down within 2 years. Not your problem, you say…OH, YES IT IS! Because if your seller isn’t safe…neither are you and the day of reckoning could come 2 years from now when you have totally forgotten about it and they pull up his entire record of sales and decide they need to bust a few of his bigger customers to roll some on the source. So that reorder you THINK you are making is going to the police in Peoria who are about to make a controlled delivery on your house.

So here are some questions to ask your source to find out if they have the know-how and have made the required investment to protect your health and safety. Because quality gear is rarely the cheapest but in the (not so) long term, cheap gear can cost you a WHOLE LOT MORE.

    1. Do they actually make their own tablets? This is the easiest way to spot a wannabe and quickly separates a UGL with a real lab from some bored kid in college. You will also notice that almost no one has them but instead uses capsules to make orally based gear. When you are trying to put 10mgs of steroid in a capsule that holds 500mg and have no precisely accurate equipment to do the task and no even way to tamp each capsule, you end up with wide fluxuations from cap to cap and from batch to batch and it’s a lot of labor to produce a small batch, normally 25 or 50 capsules. So why don’t they make tablets? The reason is that to make tablets you need a lot of expensive equipment, many materials and some experience.

Chimera Labs makes its own imprinted tablets. To do that, we first have to buy filler by the 50lb barrel. Instead of using the cheap lactose base that is often used in China tablets, we use a silicified microcrystalline cellulose formula that most US pharma cos use so that the tablet will open up more quickly upon hitting the user’s stomach. After measuring out the proper ratios (in scales that measure from 1mg-1KG) of filler, steroid, FD&C colorants and certain powder lubricants, they are placed into a V-blender (not the kind you make your shakes in but a large tumbler system) that will have sufficient shearing upon rotation to mix the powders properly and ensure a perfectly even mixture throughout the batch. Then we place them in the hopper of our tablet press (complete with custom tap and die set with logo) and begin the arduous task of adjusting the feed so that the amount and compression produces a tablet of the near exact weight upon which we based the original calculations. Even if the finished tablets for a tablet with 10mg Dbol and one with 25mg Anadrol both weigh 100mgs each, they will have completely different setting on the press. Someone experienced can probably get the correct settings within an hour of tinkering and with a minimum of waste. Then, of course, they spit out at the rapid speed of about 8,000 per hour. Once done, we place the tablets in a de-duster machine to get excess powder off of them. In large pharma cos, they are then sent to a polisher to buff them but we do not currently do this as we don’t feel its absolutely required. Then our tabs are put into a K-L digital counting machine with a dual ramp which also feeds them into the bottles, which are filled, capped, heat sealed and then labeled. If you begin to add up what you think such equip might cost and the difficulty of obtaining it, you can see why only the very few do it this way.

    2. How do they test the powders they get? Because many UGLs buy powders in very small amounts from various repackagers who break up the standard size lot of 1KG into smaller amounts, they very rarely know the quality of the powder or if it is even what it is supposed to be. Spending $100+ for each bag to send it off to a lab to be tested is generally not feasible and so they simply hope that their supplier is sending them correctly labeled, quality products. At Chimera Labs, however, we test each raw material to make sure that it meets the suppliers’ claims. While GC/MS is the most accurate, we use a digital melting point apparatus in house, which costs about $3K for a decent one but is cheaper and to operate than a GC/MS and it still gives us a very good idea of what we have. Each powder has a particular temperature at which it melts and by measuring the powder we have, we can know if it matches the target temperature and the range over which it melts, a wider range indicating a less pure product. For example, oxandrolone has a MP range of 235-238 Celsius. If we observe that it is actually between 175 and 180, they likely sent us oxymetholone instead and if we see it ranges from 215-245 then it has greater impurities than its COA would represent and perhaps was diluted with something.

    3. How do they process their oils? Most UGL’s limit themselves to producing oil based injectables since they think that they can do this with a minimum of equipment and with very little start up cost. While it is true that nearly anyone can cook up something with basic kitchen equipment, that doesn’t mean that the end result is good quality or sterile gear. Starting out with quality materials is certainly a vital element of producing a quality product but since most UGL’s don’t have access to legitimate biochem supply companies and pharma grade materials, they tend to purchase things from repackagers who often may not be getting the highest purity products or operating in the most cleanly fashion. Most supply companies require sizeable purchases and a history in business to buy. Because Chimera produces ours in a real lab with established ties to the industry, we can procure the same materials that larger pharmaceuticals do for our exipients, containers and equipment.

The real concern perhaps besides getting what you are paying for, is not getting an infection. Granted, such things are reasonably rare but it only takes once to make you remember it forever. Dirty gear is something that is relatively recent since it was a very rare occurrence when almost all gear was “human grade”. The early thriving Mexican market was the real start of infected injections and careless UGL’s have carried it on ever since. Most UGL’s sterilize their finished product by filtering, using Whataman syringe filters. They have no way of reliably sterilizing their equipment or products. Most of the time that will be fine but then there will be that time that it wont be. At Chimera, we start out by sterilizing our mixing equipment then after we make a finished oil we prefilter it, then sterile filter it using a sterile vacuum assembly. Finally, we send it through a specialized autoclave that is made for liquids. Simply boiling your vial will not be effective. This way we can be absolutely sure that the product is sterile and in the many years we have been in business (under other names), we have never had a customer with an infection. If a UGL is going to produce an injectable, make sure that they have the equipment to make sure it is sterile because one infection can ruin far more than your cycle.

    4. Is their money system completely safe, meaning VERY difficult for the authorities to catch them…and you? Lets face it, good cheap steroids aren’t worth an extended stay in jail, huge fines and generally ruining your life. But that is what you risk every time you order. With some UGL’s that risk is small and for many of them, the risk to you is quite large. When you deal with someone who has not properly organized the way they take your money, its only a matter of time before they are caught. Sure, maybe its not today, this month or even this year but it WILL happen because most of them are careless and unable to set things up the right way in the beginning and because things go well for awhile, they think they will continue to be that way. And when they are caught and the odds are 50/50 that they will be if they are in it for a bit then the police could very well be at your door soon after. Why? You ask when they have the dealer, how and why would they want his customers? Well, first, many of those dealers have records on their computers which the police then take and find your name and address or they simply will work a deal with the dealer to keep dealing while they collect your names and addys to make controlled deliveries to. Now why would they do that you ask? Well, for one, more arrests look better. Second, they will often arrest several customers so as to have them cut a deal and testify against the dealer, which is still not a position you want to be in. Mind you this can happen a year or two after you ordered.

How to avoid this? Well, first is your money should NEVER go to anyone in the USA. If it is sent internationally then it makes it much harder (though not impossible) for authorities to target the source. That source should also be able to have multiple people collecting for them so as not to have too much under any one name. Finally, the gear itself should be coming from within your country and should have no connection that can be traced to the money. That way there is little risk to you that it will be intercepted. Setups like this are not easy nor cheap but that’s why Chimera Labs has made the effort to ensure a safe system. It protects you and us and at the end of the day a few dollars is not nearly as important as your safety.

    5. How many years have they been in business? The fact is that everyone has to start sometime and businesses are no different. What is different, however, is that a UGL that has been around awhile has more experience and more to lose if they don’t treat you right. Most startups will be solicitous of your business at first and, since they have little to offer over the next guy, try to cut prices to the bone to compete. While this sounds good for you the customer and does in fact keep prices from getting too inflated in the marketplace, if a price seems too cheap, it probably is. If a business is not making a sufficient amount to cover the risk they are taking, it very likely means that, instead of spending the money to reduce that risk which in turn would require higher prices, they are putting that risk on YOU. People who have been in the game for some time understand this and know that if you want to last, you have to invest. That’s also why those who have been in business for 5 years or more without themselves or their customers being busted are priced differently than the most recent startup because they know how to make sure they STAY in business long after the new kids (and their customers) have had a visit from the police. Those who have been in it awhile also know that the best way to keep customers is to make a quality product because reputation means a lot. Ultimately what makes a UGL is the people behind it and the experience and business practices they have. At Chimera, we have been manufacturing steroids for more than 7 years and have always made products that were clean and tested to specs.

Ask your supplier these 5 questions and compare your answers to the above. At the end of the day, buying steroids is a purchase you want to be satisfied with not only when you send your money but months after you use the products, so chose carefully and wisely.

When I first saw this thread, I thought....cool, this should be a good read.
But after reading it, no disrepect intended Reliable bro, it sounds more like an advertisement and a way to justify your higher prices?

      The Other Side.........

      1) What does making tabs over caps has to do with anything?
I dont know about you but I've taking/take alot of caps, from medicine to supplements and everything in between.

And talk about cost. Just in machinery.....you are talking thousands of dollars.
You would need Capsule filling machine...not a small manual machine. That would be to time consuming and take forever to have any large quanity of stock. But a fully automaic capsule filling machine.

Also, you would need a Capsule Polisher and Sorter, a capsule packaging machine, and so on. Isn't that basically they same things you mentioned??

      But why stop there?
If we are talking about a "true" high quaility UG lab, then of course, they should also have a Automatic Liquid Filler for their vials and liquid orals.

      2) Bro, I hate to say this, but if you paid 3k for testing your powders
How do anyone test the powders they get (hopefully, you all do)?

You go down to Wally World and pick up $20 digital tempature scale.
Heat your powder and where it melts, you have you melting point.

      3) I dont know bro.
"since most UGL’s don’t have access to legitimate biochem supply companies and pharma grade materials" - this is totally untrue and bias.

We all have the internet and its just a point of looking in the right places.

Thats cool how you filter your solutions and hopefully everyone does auot-clave but I doubt it.....they are expensive. But just because you do it that way doesnt mean its sterile bro.
Not once did you mention a "controlled enviroment". A true lab would have central filtration system, standing room filters , and LAminar flow hoods.

      4) Safety is #1. Hopefully UG labs are not that stupid.

      5) Didnt make sense to me. Most UG labs, not Pharmacutical labs, go private or semi-private after a short time.
No disrepect, but if you have been in the biz that long, you should have a hell of a big customer base where you wouldnt need to be posting on forums??

well i thought i might get some crazy replies to it lol i would guess number 1 you have some involvement in 1 of the labs giving stuff away? the explanation for the higher prices speaks for itself, it also said have been in the business, it didnt say making products under this label for that long, hence its a new venture with this label not in the business total. Also there are lots of valid points but all you seem to do is discredit the info which ill summarise, lots of ug labs these days are bathtub operations giving gear away, which is unsafe to the end user, if you want quality then i have it, if you wanna take your chances then fair enough, thats just fact, nothing wrong with advertising either, im not using false info and i was invited here so whats up with that? does that mean the info i posted is not true? sorry bro i dont get your point, like i said, id guess ur involved in a lab that gives stuff away

those are all concerns that guys should check out before ordering from a lab - to bad most do not - especially those who buy from gym sources

ok now i have had some time to think, id like to answer your points

well, its an advertisement???? oh the shock, the horror - how could we possibly speak about our own products or company?? and yes, it tells you WHY you are paying higher prices for some companies than others

              The Other Side.........

1> most supp companies have contracted their stuff to have it made by someone else. The only reason people can even make caps is because there is a small very cheap cap-m-quick. Tablets dont have a cheap entry.. And yes, we do have a vacuum auto filler for our liquids (Accutek Packaging btw).

2, You obviously have no idea about melting point testing - it is a digital gage and can tell when the EXACT spot that you are testing is at that EXACT temperature. There is a reason that labs do it the way they do. Of course we could just do a GC/MS each time but that is more expensive and then we would have to charge more. Considering we get good results with MP testing, there seems no reason but who do you know that has actually tested ANY of the powders they got? in ANY way

              3. For your information, "internet companies" are mostly NOT legitimate lab supply companies. And those who are like FisherSci and Sigma Aldrich, well, just try to buy something off of their site. You first must be a legitimate business that they set up an account for and run your credit. And if you think that buying certain chems from a steroid ancilary dealer and buying from Sigma is the same, then there is little reason for discussion and so I guess pharmaceutical companies should do that too. We dont have a full clean room but do have a 6' laminar flow hood and table whcih is more than sufficient for what we need. Oh, it has a UV lamp as well for when we are not using it

              4. But most ARE and thats why they get busted. They are trying to do business, are young and greedy and so are not willing to spend the time or money or don't know how to set things up properly and then NOT to do business outside of that. Many get busted because they deal locally as well, but then the police are happy to find that they have this entire internet business going as well.

              5. We have been in business under another name for many years that because of the revealing of its true ownership had to retire for a little bit.
