Gonna try a new split
So, being 45 and then some plus going single ply I was looking for a new split. I downloaded Blaine Sumners geared gorilla but it was a bit two much for me at this point in that you basically hit the big 3 two times a week. Honestly, I love the logic and progression but I am not ready for the frequency yet. The shirt and suit have added so much intensity and strain that sleep and recovery are being taxed at the moment. So, I will keep that in my pocket for now.
It looks like I will be modeling mine off Jimmy Kolb and benching on Monday and squatting on Tuesday. Wednesday off and he benches raw on Thur but I will do shoulders and light accessories then hit back Friday. He also only deadlifts every 3rd or 4th week so I will give that a whirl as well. Hawk |

You know, the west-siders hit the big 3 twice a week in their own way, but one is a speed day rather than a max effort day. When I was doing that it wasn't unmanageable.
Compared with not-quite-maxing at a heavy single..? I'm curious how it went for you, any updates? |

I hit every muscle group 3 X in 2 weeks. Think in a two week time frame, this works better than being stuck in the old one week routine.

I've done that before where I did push-pull-legs each twice a week, but there were a total of 4 main exercises (and subsequent accessories to go with) I'd rotate through. So It was like each push, pull, and leg, had A-day, B-day, C-day, D-day.
I also like having a push-pull-leg where if I need a rest, i do it and I don't keep to a strict 7-day schedule. So push-day was monday last week, and it's tuesday this week? Meh, doesn't matter. |
