Thanks DPH, I have never caught that one before. I always appreciated him even though I never found him to have that aesthetic of a physique that I would want for my taste. You had to admire his incredible leg development and the pain tolerance that it must have taken to do it. My bench always sucked but I could squat a house so I identified with Platz a little bit. He always came across as a solid decent person that you wouldn't mind hanging out with. I never got to meet him though.

Quick take-aways from vid:

- He said he never ran more than 100mg of gear ed.

- He would taper his cycles - starting at a high dose for 2-3 weeks, medium dose for 2-3 weeks, then smaller dose for 2-3 weeks, then he would come off for 2-3 weeks before starting all over again. So, key point I find interesting is that he would only come off for 2-3 weeks. He would use HCG to kickstart things again.

- Gear never really increased his strength, being that his best lifts was when he was natty before starting gear. Gear would mainly give him a "polish", and add about 10-15 lbs of bdwt.

- Arnold loved dbol and he explains why. He said it helps fill a taller guys frame out, whereas a shorter guy like him it just makes him look like a blocky refrigerator (paraphrasing - his gesture implies that)

- He talks about always getting bloodwork done to be safe.

- He talks a shit-ton about "sarcoplasm" - I had to google that.

I really enjoy vids like these - wish there were more vids of the 80's crew talking about their PED use back then.

That's a blast from the past. Love Tom Platz. Did Arnold himself ever talk about why he liked dbol btw?
