I'm a far bigger fan of classic thrash bands than the wanna be death metal twat bands of today.

Certainly not for building muscles maybe for penis enhancement.

I agree they can be used for increasing muscle mass and strength but in conjunction with weights, not as a replacement.

Does the muscle know the difference? Tell me how....Bands place most force in contracted position.........where needed to avoid injury.

I think you are being controversial rather than serious but if it was a superior method, every musclehead on the planet would be using bands. Not a single top BB uses them that I am aware of.

Depends on what you mean by better. For an old guy with injuries, perhaps. For adding max amount of muscle, of course not and even laughable.

I'm thinking Phil, the consummate pro that he is, is referring to the negative potion of the rep being equal to the concentric portion of the rep which would definitely increase the effectiveness of the most neglected portion of the rep. When I was building up to hitting over 500 lbs on the flat bench I would do negative reps on weights far heavier than I could push up. But the negative reps did indeed translate into a more powerful positive rep as well as build muscle. With that in mind I would agree in part. But nothing can compare to free weights in my very small prejudiced mind.
