I used to skeet shoot a number of years ago for a gun club I belong to. I was decently accurate and sometimes I'd get both with a single shot

I trap shot years ago but sold all my weapons in 98/99.
Now that I'm living in a "free state" I'm looking to get a nice pump and semi shotgun...maybe a Mossberg. Had a SPAS-12 in 90...that was some beast to haul around lol |

I got to tournament level skeet shooting at one point hitting 25 straight pretty consistent 96 to 98 out of 100 fairly regular with a 12 guage. If getting into skeet have to go with over under and get the barrels to take it down to a 28 guage. That's when it gets real. If getting a all around gun get the super black eagle. Its like anything you spend a few hundred more and you got a gun for life to pass on to kids. Berretta and benelli shotguns. Just a beater Remeington or Browning.

Absolutely, tons of fun to skeet, trap shoot. I still get dressed and throw the decoys out every so often and pretend like I’m hunting blue bills and mallards, but, it’s been a long time since any real number of birds has been flying around my parts. To be fair, though, I just go off the cabin shore, so it’s not like I’m trying all that hard to begin with.
The place near me that has a great trap range. The change the angles at the stations fairly often, bounce clays off of trampolines, have them come randomly from high over the tree lines. It’s a lot of fun. For anyone that hasn’t done it, I highly recommend it. |
