    some facts about Arginine

Arginine is a crucial amino acid for many physiological processes. Chief among these is its ability to increase nitric oxide in the body. When you supplement 3 to 5 grams of arginine before workouts, you'll notice you look more vascular and that your muscles feel more pumped. Increased nitric oxide helps dilate blood vessels which allows more blood, oxygen, and nutrients to flow through them. You'll particularly notice this with the muscle group you are training. For instance, when you are doing bar bell curls your biceps will feel more engorged and your veins will pop out more than usual. arginine is best taken 30 minutes before you workout to get optimum results!

An unfortunate fact about Arginine in doses large enough to boost NO is that it also lowers immunity to viral infection. When using Arginine it's a good idea to take a similar amount of lysine before bed. Lysine boosts the immune system. Don't take them at the same time though because lysine will cancel much of the effect of Arginine pre workout.

Only gives those effects by I.V. not orally. Dr Bloomer, head of sports medicine at the University of Memphis, gave athletes up to 20 grams showing 0 improvements orally.

Works great through IV's in hospital settings though.
