CoQ10 Supplements Functions on the Body

Every day you live proves that you have won a struggle of survival. You are past the age when people used to say that they are from a civilized society. Actually speaking we are back to the jungle, once again, but of a different kind. A more modern, lethal and so-called civilized jungle, where people only survive, in a never-ending race with time.

Leisure is almost like a thought from the past as you spend your day huffing and puffing, busy with your exploits, hoping to sit back and relax some day in your old age. You fail to notice that all the time that you were busy your body has started to pick up the signs of aging, even before its natural process has started, all because of overburdening your body with loads of work and lack of proper care.

Of all your basic requirements during your active years, energy is the most important. It is this energy, which drives you places and keeps you active as long as you are alive. Food is the very basic source of energy. You need food to survive and the best thing is to have a good spread with all necessary ingredients of carbohydrates, proteins and fats in necessary proportions for an all round diet. However, even such a complete diet is not always enough to sustain your health and maintain your requirements.

You need a lot more of other essential elements that are not readily available in food in enough quantities to be effective. You need to take dosage of these elements as supplements to bring back the vigor and radiance of your youth. CoQ10 is a useful supplement for your body and belong to a class of very essential compounds known as "quinones". This compound is also called ubiquinones due to its omnipresence in all cells all over your body. The mitochondrion residing in the cells of your body breaks down this compound to release energy as and when required.

Some food items from our daily diet also has this compound readily available in them but even having a lot of these food items would hardly provide you with the necessary daily required amount of CoQ10 of your body. The most common source for this compound is the organ meat or red meat. Consumption of red meat however, will neither be always possible for everybody due to its other properties nor is it a common food item for all to consume. Same is the case with fish like herring or trout which has these compounds in plenty. Most will have to depend on supplements to meet the requirements on a daily basis.

Considering the necessity of your body and the type of work and rest that you allow your body to function under, you might settle for a dosage prescribed by your doctor after a thorough checkup of your other medical conditions. Your age is also a very important factor in deciding the type of supplement you will need for yourself in order to lead a healthy and active life.
