    Long r3 stimulates cancer cells

i found this doing some research..... can soem one give a little advice.....cancer runs in the fam, shoudlnt be in my generation supposebly but im still some what high at risk.....

    heres some info.....

Columbus Children's Hospital, Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, Ohio 43205, USA. lwetterau@chi.osu.edu

IGF-I has been implicated in the pathogenesis of human cancer. We sought to establish a role for IGF-I in the regulation of telomerase, an enzyme critically involved in cancer cell immortalization. Telomerase activity was assayed in LAPC-4, PC-3, and DU-145 prostate cancer cell lines treated with and without IGF-I/IGF-I analogs. Relative expression of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) mRNA and protein was determined by quantitative RT-PCR and Western immunoblot, respectively. IGF-I stimulated baseline telomerase activity in all three cell lines, ranging from 2- to 10-fold (P < 0.05). Enhancement was noted at IGF concentrations as low as 10 ng/ml and was maximal at 100 ng/ml. Stimulation was noted by 0.5 h, was maximal by 8 h, and persisted to 48 h. A similar 3-fold enhancement (P < 0.01) was noted in response to Long-R3 IGF-I, but not in response to [Ala(31),Leu(60)]IGF-I. Pretreatment with the Akt kinase inhibitor wortmannin abolished the stimulatory IGF effect, whereas blockade of MAPK activity did not. Lastly, IGF-I provoked a 2-fold increase in hTERT mRNA and protein expression (P < 0.01). In summary, IGF-I clearly stimulates telomerase activity in prostate cancer cells through a dual mode of action, including early rapid effects probably involving phosphorylation of hTERT by Akt and later up-regulation of hTERT expression.

Studies also indicate that if you have cancer, hgh as well as IGF-1 may accelerate the growth. I haven't seen definitive reseach that shows IGF-1 causes cancer.

yeah, thats the main concern with hgh......any type of cancer especially prostate in men would have increased growth with the use of hgh....thats what ive read anyway....whether its completly true im not sure....

doesn't cause it but accelerates growth. Igf 1 and hgh attach to fatty tissues (which explains the "gut" you get due to growing fat around around your stomach and intestines)

Damn bro it was a joke, next time I will be sure to use several smilies or a couple lols to makes sure people know I am kidding. The point is we all take risks trying to achieve our ideal physiques, whether it be with drugs or diet or training. Knowledge helps us reduce those risks, but no matter how many precautions you take sometimes you just cant change anything. Hell look at Christopher Reeves wife, never smoked in her life and dies of lung cancer.

^I would say if it makes you happy and you can't live without it, then only you are the final judge in what you do with your body. I have seen ppl that have quit smoking, and then were totally on their wits end after they quit and just were not the same without it. Is this worth stopping?? It all depends on your quality of life. No one can tell you what to do and you have to be happy in life, not miserable.

IGF-1 accelerates cancer, AAS/HGH/LR3 can all cause it to grow quicker then normal. If you are going to get cancer, you're going to get it, using what we use will just speed up the process.

You don't have to be a smoker to get lung cancer. my wifes mom died this past wednesday of lung cancer and she wasn't a smoker. She had thyroid cancer and by the time the docs got to take out the thyroid it had spread into the lymph nodes and went into the lungs. She had the surgery earlier this year and now she's gone. not at all pretty. i've also heard about GH speeding up any cancers that may have or are beginning to spread.

Thanks. it's appreciated. Cancer is one nasty fucker. I posted this because people at times think lung cancer is linked to smoking or inhaling asbestos etc. this was a new and surprising method for lung cancer for me. it also went to her brain so that may put it all in perspective. it did for me

This is so true. I knew a someone who ran a marathon then died a couple weeks later from lung cancer. They didn't smoke a day in their life either.
