Is there a general rule of thumb?

Is there a general rule of thumb when it comes to bodybuilding competition and height?
For example a lower level show is there a guide for which weight class you should aim for based on your height? I'm around 511 give or take which weight class should I be aim for or does height really have nothing to do with it?

I think that's gonna depend more on BF% at this point, say your 200# with BF of 13.5
that would mean you got 27# of fat on you, I'm not a competitor but my guess would be you need to be around 6% for a contest maybe lower so depending on your start weight and the % number you can see where you'd end up

Every show just try to look your best. You want to be as big and cut at your height as possible.

pillsbury is on a distinguished road
even bf isnt that important. ive seen guys at 3% that were flat as fuck under the lights and guys who were prob5-6 but looked like granite bc they carried their fat well and had shit hot contest prep. all you should be concerned about is coming in as dry, hard and cut as possible. id venture this is more important than size to an extent

In short, no. All depends on ones level of development. One guy might be 260 & peeled, yet another may be 175 - both same height. So as already stated, get as dialed in as possible and give it your best shot - regardless of what the scale says.

Btw Joe, physique classic DOES have a weight limit for height. There's a chart posted around here somewhere. I believe the limit for 5'11 is around 200 lbs.

5'11" is tall, but sliced and diced does the trick.
