The Quadfather! He was an idol to Yates in Yates' early years.
I still remember him squatting 500 lbs for 23 reps with Fred Hatfield and Bill Kazmier looking on in the background. And when he squatted, it was always ATG. Still most alienesque quads to this day.

Back in the early 80's when the famous beach pics came out in Muscle/Fitness magazine, I tore those out of the mag and hung them in my basement gym. They were mind-blowing for their time.
