Day 220 of 100 daily lunges

I’m 45 years old and have been competing in powerlifting for the past 14 years. Many of those have been multi ply. My best totals have come after 41 and I’m on a 4 meet streak of total PRs. Last winter and spring during meet prep I was having knee pain and stiffness for the first time ever. After my meet on April 30th I started doing lunges every day, motivated by Corey G and a good friend of mine/coach who also does them. Today is day 220. At first it sucked. My legs were sore for 3 weeks. By the time month two rolled around I started enjoying them a lot. My knees have never felt better and it’s improved my quality of life tremendously because they have honestly gotten me in better shape being a bigger dude that generally weighs 280-285. I’ll mix it up when I get bored and do them for distance instead of reps, do them for time (2:45 is my best for 100) or I’ll do them with a 20lb chain over my neck. Just sharing my experiences an older dude with high training mileage. Something as simple as 100 daily lunges can have a big impact. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Thanks for sharing that. I have found that doing very high rep leg extensions burn my quads like a mofo and helped my knees quite a bit.

Yes! I keep high rep extensions in the mix routinely for the same reasons. Also very effective.
