35 cal . Marlin is my choice.
Or the ever famous 12 ga shotgun .
But it really depends on where you hunt .
Here in Florida you usually don't have a long shot so a slow/short cal will be find.
I'd be willing to bet that more deer have been taken with a shotgun that any other type.
