Just heard on the news a few min. ago that people are shooting at military helicopters. That's nuts!! These people are going out to help you and your shooting at them? What are people thinking? It's no ones fault that nature decided to kick some ass..

I think people are frustrated that aide came so slowly. Hell, just a couple days ago Bush was at a festival posing and smiling holding a guitar. WTF? It's also an area that has been economically depressed for the most part. It's a powder keg.

its horrible, there was a cop 2 nights ago that got shot in the face right infront of the station....theres no reason 2 roit....u cant expect imeditate relief....
 
No, you can't give immediate relief BUT this has been a depressed area for ever. We can't throw the baby out with the bath water in the incidences. Some will be just criminal actions while others are frustrated people looking for help.

But has the govt. sent any food or clean water?

Sometimes I just feel like our govt. is so quick to help other countries...but we don't help our own...

That region is soooooooo poor to begin with...have any of you been down in LA, MS, etc.??? It looks like a third world country in some areas.
 
OK I gotta speak up here. Yes people are wrong to start shooting. That is fucking ludicrous. There were people that were coming in to do search and rescue and started being shot at and had to fall back and leave the people there. However I have been watching this unfold for 4 days now and people are fucking dying! Not of drowing but lack of medical aid, food and water. There are dead bodies in the streets. There are people on the highways that are easily accesible who still have no food or water. The majority of the people haven't eaten or drank in days. For fuck sake they are worried about an epidemic of chollera spreading because of the contaminated water. Every channel is covering the fact that these people still have no relief. Every camera man and news reporter says people are coming to them begging for food. You mean to tell me that supplies can't be dropped in at the very least?

Bush is a fucking piece of shit. He is nothing but a corporate puppet. Everyone who knows me knows I have been against him before he was even made President. Where are the people who were for the war now? Where the fuck is the money going to come from? SO glad we are wasting billions of dollars and lives on a pointless war. He has his own gains in mind. Always did. Please you think he was oh so concerned about those people? Give me a fucking break. What has HE done? Look at 911! The majority fo the aid came from US the American tax payer, just as it will here. Armageddon is upon us people.

Very true. That area was just ready to burst. We are now nationally getting familiar with some devastation but states like NO and MS have been so depressed for a long, long time.

Great post especially cause I agree. I am not a Dem or Rep...just a concerned American. And just wait for Bush to use this agenda to push even harder about the Arctic Wildlife Reserve drilling.

And tell me how it isn't price gouging when INSTANTLY fuel prices sky rocketed?

Where are the other countries offering us aid? Hard to get aid when really we arent liked. Our "leaders" have made the bed that we must lie in.

Exactly...many of these people were probably starving and malnourished to begin with, even worse off then the average man would be.

DO NOT get me started about the AWR. I have been fighting against this since this fuck was elected. I am neither dem nor rep either. I am an independent. And yes there is obvious price gouging. However part of it is due to the shutdown of oil platforms, refineries and pipelines along the Gulf Coast and the fact that people are panicking and buying up all the gas. However the price gouging was happening prior and this is yet another reason to drive it up further.
 
I have conservative Christian professors that will just email me in shame when it comes to the things Bush has done as President. Anyway, Bush didnt do shit for 9/11 and this will be even worse because he can't grandstand on the issue as much unless he can convince everyone that terrorists created the hurricane...and I think some conservatives might actually believe him.

The people I used to live next to were steadfast Republicans and very open about it. They said they no longer wanted people to know because they felt ashamed because of what Bush has done.
 
I know of a few people and have even seen a few online admit to making a mistake in voting for that idiot. Never liked him and never will. I can't wait till he gets out of office. He hasn't done shit for us.

I would say I am a demorcat, but I am not a "straight" party voter. It just happens to be that most demorcrats hold my same ideaology on topics/issues.
 
I also agree with Future a few posts up.

We stir up so much shit in the world and act as we are ABOVE everyone else, who would want to help us?
 
I was in Ohio during the elections where Ohioans voted for Bush or Kerry...even after jobs were being out sourced AND the economy was and IS so poor. 75% of school levies failed last year in Ohio!

Anyway, the point is Bush can do his speech giving BUT he is totally enept in his mighty micromanaging. He is the same guy that was invovled in companis going under when he was in charge NOT to metion close friends with the ERON people.

Most of the South voted for him minus the urban areas. Or I think so? Right?

The south has had issues for so long. Like I said this has been a powder keg just waiting to explode...and for some to exploit.
