Hello folks, Im new to this forum and the whole weight lifting / eating healthy life style. Anyways, Im trying my best to figure out what foods to eat and what foods to avoid( Its hard to eat right). Im just curious if you guys could post up some of your meals
( what you eat, when, ect.....) I've done a fair share of reading but I figured I should post and see where it go's.

Back to the original question, Which is better.... oatmeal or cream of wheat?

Thanks, charles

i like trader joes steel cut oats 1/2 cup is 50g carbs and i mix one splenda in with and cinamon for flavor

it doesnt matter what type of foods you eat as long as you macros (carbs, pro ,and fats) are correct according to bodyweight and and goal .

Shit,I never thought i'd say this but last time i got shredded eating fruits for carbs and cereals , as long as you figure out how much fat and carbs you can eat in order to lose bf you can pretty much have whatever you want.

Oatmeal does have the greater food value, but Oly's point is valid IMO. I never cut cottage cheese and SF/FF yogurt.

Glycemic Index

Cream of Wheat 66
Oatmeal 48

The lower the GI the better

People overlook beans as carbs too...

Lentil beans have become a favorite for me. Very low GI, cheap, and you don't have to soak them. You just boil them like rice!

To answer your question old fashioned oatmeal is better than cream of wheat.

Cream of Wheat is basically like white flour with the germ and bran layers removed and only starch left. Old Fashioned Oatmeal is a whole grain food and a lot more nutritious. You can eat anything you like for your carbs but I don't like eating empty calories. Cream of Wheat is basically junk food.
