I'm finding it is hard to get any interested stirred up on this forum, but I'm trying .
AJ was a acquittance of mine for over 15 years.

I'm sure Mr Jones was the interesting individual. Didn't he have alligators in a moat around his house? I have never read any of writing before. I would appreciate it if you could post Bulletin #2 also.
 
Nope ! Not during the times I knew him,but he did have a thing for "wild animals".

There is a lot of things to learn from AJ still to this day.

I think his whole training concept was quite flawed, he said so himself after getting 60mil for his equipment company.
 
Could you be a little more specific as to what is flawed ?

His whole HIT philosophy 1 to three sets per body part per week, he stated that an entire weeks worth of training sessions should total less than one hour, not one hour per session but the combined times of all the weeks sessions. An entire training session may consist of only three sets. A bunch of bullshit designed to sell his machines to lazy people.

I can't remember his saying such .

Most of the top bb'ers who claim to be HIT advocates don't train as Arthur Jones laid out the program. Even Mike Mentzer who claimed to do only one set per exercise was seen for years doing 5-6 sets per exercise several exercises per bodypart.
When asked about this he claimed the first 4-5 sets were just in preparation for his one work set so he claimed he only did 3 actual sets per workout, bullcrap. Dorian Yates has a few very good vids out on his method of HIT training sessions which are brutal. I have nothing against HIT training although my joints probably couldn't take it, what offends me are guys who lie to sell a program like Mentzer, saying that they built their physiques with 1-3 sets per workout 10 minutes a day 3 times a week.

I been telling niggas that don't undertsand HIT that for years now.lol They read the magz and REALLY think the HIT guys are doing only 2 or 3 sets per bdpt. Yet the reader doesn't realize the nigga PYRAMMIDED up in weight over several sets BEFORE he did his bust ass set. And its not the readers fault, as the magz didnt' talk about that topic...until more recent times. Back in the day, everybody thought Dorian LITERALLY was doing only 2 or 3 sets per bdpt TOTAL. Not true...WORK sets and TOTAL sets are not the same.lol Watch Blood n Guts and you will see his workout is NOT so off-the-wall...he pyramids up and busts ass on his last set or 2. Hence, for chest yes indeed he might only be doing 3-4 WORK sets, but TOTAL sets is more like 8-9. Theres not a universal protocol when guys tell you their workout...some include the warm-up/feel-sets when they discuss how many sets they do, and some only discuss work sets. So you need to be sure you know exactly what they mean before concluding.lol :p

Quick example for n00bs...a dudes incline on chest day...lets assume on his last set he did 405 x 8...the 8th rep being the last rep he could get...

135 x 20
225 x 10
315 x 10
405 x 8

OK, how many worksets was done? :eek: lol Answer? One. Why? Because we know that if he can get 405 x 8, then he could have easily did more than 10 reps with 315 and 225. Those were merely warm-ups/feel-sets in pyramidding up to his last bust-ass-set...the WORK SET. :)
