Either you got great genetics or you don't. Don't dwell on it but instead work as hard as you can with what you were given and make the best of it. Train hard and live life to the fullest.

Not all of us can be 300lbs. Not all of us can look like Arnold. Not all of us can be a strong man. But every one of us can live up to our God given potentials, and get a little past it with some intelligent use of the gear He gave us.

Ya Know , Im not really sure if my Genetics are good or not , Alot of folks around the Boards have seen my Pictures upper body , lower body and everthing together as a package covered in Boxer Briefs of course ,although I do know this . I work my ass off ,probably push harder than I should and sometimes results in injuries .I have came a long way in changing my over all body appearance over the last few years with the help of "goodies" and good guidence from trusted members of this Board ..I started this game at around 165lbs, I currently sit at 202 lbs and its hard , I wanna be 230 lbs hell maybe 250 lbs ,,Can I get there ? who knows , I think I can and damn sure will push till I do , You say Genetics ? Maybe ,,,,but with determination and drive and the right assistance I will acheive my goals , I believe with the right gentics it may be easier to acheive them but regardless if my dad is short and weak or my mom is tall and fragile ,,,this boy will hit his goals come helll or high water ,,Cuz I say agian ,,,I Can And Will .. Good post above brother ....
You know what , this kind of posts and threads make me wanna push even harder , the results always shine through . above I mentioned that guidence and help from other board members has got me this far let me just stop this rambling here and say thanks for all the help .

I am addicted to a semi healthy semi destructive life style that has me anywhere from 195 at 8% to 230 at 17%. I don't know if I even have a genetic.

True we can only become our best within our genetic limits. But our best shape sure can vary greatly from our worst.

yeah genetics play a certain roll... but with everything out now adays like anabolics, HGH, insulin, peptides etc etc you can really push your body to its limits.

im on the same page kinda!!..
Sometimes i think everyone in the world is looking for a "reason" tohers do so well... "Oh she's on steroids".. "well he has a more expensive trainer"... "She's Genetically at an advantage"... how about "that guy worked his ass off to make his body into the vision of perfection in his mind!!".... i mean my diet my trainer my gear, my genetics all play a part, but i think my mental drive and determiniation, and heart of a champ,, are what will mnake me a champ!!

My genetics gave me legs the right length for my arms and shoulders a grear size for my waist... i credit my genetics with my proportions and ratios, gear with adding some mass, my gym ethic and hard work with most of my successes tho!..

thanking genetics for everything is like thanking God... I wasnt just handed this shit.. i worked my arse off for it! know what i mean?

BT, you're post gave me chills like when the National Anthem plays...

Genetics can be a two edged sword.
I used to compete in power lifting. Was considered to be pretty strong for my weight calss. And I never used steroids. I didn't need to. I was lifting naturally what all the other guys juicing were doing. So strength was never an issue.
Maintaining my body weight was. I gain weight very easily. And of course not always the right type of weight. I'm short, thick, and to maintain symmetry have to exaggerate certain body parts through extra intense training. I could easily weigh in at 250-275 at 5'7" tall. But the majority of it would be fat. But to grow lean is a struggle. I'm currently hovering between 225-230 and look good, feel good, with no serious injuries.
But there are times that this is what I feel like :wallbash: trying to gain the lean mass and not get fat in the process.

i think the impact of genetics is really under estimated. i know a guy that stays huge full and shredded accidentally while eating ice cream and came in 3rd in a major show cycling incorrectly, dieting incorrectly, and not posing well AT ALL.. then i know people that are on grams of shit training and diet on point and never see top 15 in any show.

Yep, but if that same guy gets dialed he will probaly be that 5% that have the genetics to be a pro.

my genetics r ok ..nothing special .. but that dont stop me ....
i have an 8 pack now officially which im happy about ...my abs show 8
my goal was always 2 look good feel good ...so im happy

I was born with big traps which seem to grow no matter what I do.
My father once said, "You got your shoulders from your mother!"
(Didn't know her much, as she passed in a fire when I was 6, but I was a bit peeved by this comment because I did remember her as feminine.)
"What kind-of crack is that," I asked?
He replied, "No, what I mean is the way your shoulders are built. Your collar-bone goes straight across, just like your mother's. Most people's collar bones go up and back."
He then went and got a picture of my mother at the beach with 4 girlfriends. They were lined up with her in the middle. She had her arms stretched so wide her hands were on the outer shoulders of the outside girls, like an albatross. She was 5'8".
My shoulders are 24" across, but my chest is very narrow. Great for swimming, which I have swam over 2000 miles and am a natural at it.
Wish my biceps were longer, though. Hell, they insert a full inch and a half above the crook of my elbows.
My calves are huge. Even not training and out of shape they are 18 inches at 230bw.

If I just got my head in the game and trained regularly for a long period instead of trying to do 1000 things at once I could really make some headway. Tried to get some balance these past 10 years; kids, job, grad school to make more money all played a factor.

he best part about body building is how you can attenuate different body parts and refine your physique, regardless of your genetics.

..."shoulder's like your mother," ha, my dad was funny as hell!

Genetics are fine, but I can appreciate a girl in a skirt as well!
