I was giving myself a shot in my left quad( fav shot spot) two weeks ago, and when I withdrew the pin I noticed some dark blood squirt out of the hole(gush actually), so I slipped my finger over top, and held until bleeding stopped. I skipped that leg for last weeks shot ( I rotate usually every other week on leg day I give my larger shot/s- 2cc's right now, but have done 3 easy), and went back to my left leg this week. I thought perhaps I had some scar tissue( who am I lying to I know the spot has scar tissue-I can feel it). I thought the scar tissue might be hindering absorbtion, so this time I picked a spot about an inch and a half to two inches higher-same thing?? I have no sign of striations, bruising, smell, or pain assosciated with the injection site, but just getting back this "dark" blood? I pin by rubbing with an alchohol pad, insert needle, withdraw the plunger to see if I am into a vein or artery
(which where I am at in my quad I aint worried about hitting-just being safe). If all is clear I inject that days shot 2cc's (test blend 400/ml) at a slow count, wait for a few secs(perhaps 10-ish) then withdraw. Usually I may get a wee bit of red blood, just a dab, nothing like I am seeing. My head is telling me to stop quad shots for a while, but my heart loves the spot I find it so easy, and prior to a leg workout I feel I get good absorbtion. So guys what's your take? Am I heading towards an absess? Am I being too worried? I would like to move to glute shots, but am too thick and inflexible to reach there well. Any ideas? I usually reserve upper body shots for my eod of tren which I am running right now. Please advise, and thanx for your time.

I think what you have is scar tissue buildup, and the solution is to leave them alone for a while and then bring them back into a reasonable rotation of injection spots. Like if you are pinning 2X EW, use both quads and both delta and rotate them. Or both glutes and both quads.

My quads have been pinned so much I get the problem you describe with the blood until I leave them alone for a while.

Could have just nicked a vessel. Happens from time to time. Don't use your finger, always have a cotton ball or gauze ready just for this.

I would limited a site to 2cc, yes i know you may get away with it - until you don't.....

The gear will come rolling out if you have scar tissue in the area.

Probably just nicked a vessel.

Listen to your own advice, this is not rocket science, you know what you should be doing - lay off of it.

sounds like you have been hitting that spot too much time to rotate

All of the above advise is good.
No fever , no redness or swelling or unusuall unsightly areas around that spot leads me to believe there isnt infection , as the others have said. Scar tissue move spots.
I like the pec injections myself and the traps as well as biceps .Quads are my least favorite spot .

You broke a blood vessel or vein and blood pooled in that area, it takes awhile to be reabsorbed by your body.

A little harsh, I was thinking just shove a stick in my mouth bite hard, use a scalple and open er up . . . . but . . . . you have more experience Shovel, so if you think she needs to come off?? ;-) I'm always open to advice. :-D Now will I need any alchohol pads for that. lol
