Anyone know anything about solar or wind power for residential homes?

I was thinking about installing one or the other for my house. Not only because it will save me money in the long run with my electric bill, but also to increase the value of my home and to get a big tax credit

Anyone know about this? What I should look for, how much it should cost ect?

I have a three bedroom two level town home.
