bands i used to like but can't stand

When Creed first came out- loved em. 15 thousand Jesus Christ poses later, I can't stand them. NickleBack- great band loved their songs. Now a million chorus's using the same progession , I can't stand them. Godsmack- great band. Now hearing the same tonal pattern in every song produced- I can't stand them. LynyrdSkynyrd-great band for sure. Loved em and listened to the many southern rock bands who followed suit. Now after 10 goddamn million 3 steps and fucking freebirds later- Ican't stand them. I could fill this shit up like I could about old worn out ex-girlfriends. But now it's your turn! Got any band you loved that you now just can't stand(for wtf ever reason)?

Metallica - They are washed up... their old shit just dont do it for me anymore. The new stuff sounds like piss... James cant sing anymore and Lars sounds like he traded in his drumset for a garbage can. Thier guitar riffs are nothing worth going wow over.... Metallica just sucks in general to me.....i mean u can only dwell on what used to be in a band for so long... yea Metallica used to be this and sounded like this... but old shit gets old...

Loke I would have to agree about all with you except Lynard Skynyrd.... I guess its because I am from Alabama... and I like all of the songs except the ones on the radio. I personally used to love Godsmack also... but now they just like ehhh what ever...Godsmack ya know... And i think fucking Nickleback should quit... I hate this fucking band with a passion... they have one guitar riff in every song and they all sound the same. If given the chance I would probably punch that Chad guy in the face...

Let me tell ya... Megadeth is probably my favorite band of all time.... Thier music has become so great over the years... see unlike Metallica who kicked Dave Mustane out of the band... Megadeth has improved over the years...if you dont believe me this is a song that came out off their CD that came out on September 15th. One of my favs...

Lynyrd Skynyrd.. you just have to play some of the songs that didn't get that much air play if they got any.. It will renew your liking of some of the bands. But only the ones that had great music to begin with..

we used to have a radio station around baltimore I think It was 97 underground.. been a few years.. when they first hit the airways, They jammed on al the songs that didn't get airtime .. B sides and Some of the really heavy metal.. Shame they were bought out and turned into some bullshit station

Zakk Wylde-This dude needs his own identity. First he is a metal guy, then an acoustic artist, then he is a biker, then he is a southern rock guy. Plus pinch harmonics after every run and pentatonic scales all day=boring

I try to be pretty open minded about what bands I like. It seems like everyone pretty much sells out after awhile and go more mainstream sound. Whos to say you or I wouldnt do the same lol.

Either they sell out.. or just grow up. Like I said in metallicas case you cant be 20 year old angry alchohol/ testosterone driven metal gods your whole life. They got married and have kids now.


Creed, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park.. I liked them all but they went stale pretty fast. And yes zakk Wylde needs to cut down on the squeelies and stop 'singing' imo lol

The issue here is not about past but rather about marketing hype, over-exposure and artistic creative juices drying up as well as over producing of records to try to take worn out themes and make them appear market fresh. And why do they do this? Or better how can they do this and get by with it? The very word "fan" short for fanatic says it all. Well that and people like to buy into illusions(once again refer to your DUI thread). Okay? ... Alrighty then...

u have a point... about the new and old megadeth sounding alike... but from a guitar and lyrical riff stand point the albums are different... Megadeth has 12 studio albums... you wont find one solo that sounds like an old solo...

I actually like Zak. I watched/ listened to him play flamenco guitar and some other fused styles of playing that was extremely awesome. But I gotta agree, he needs to lay off the fucking false harmonic squeals!!! As for Megadeath- love Dave Mustaine and Marty Freedmon(sp?). I'm Metallica'd the hell out. As for Skynyrd- they are just a burnout factor with me. I had the albums as a kid and listened to all their stuff. I just got over the whole southern rock thing. Doesn't mean it wasn't/isn't good. Just means it's an old hat to ME. Music appreciation is totally individual. Some people write their personified names on walls and argue with people they don't know(while they could be out ridin in the sun).... Other people see that as completely refuckingtarded. To each his own I see progression as good. I DON't live in the past(classic - I don't reject it either) nor am I stuck in one genre. So if I FEEL it's true talent and not spoonfed marketing shit with an over produced hook, I've got an appreciation for it no matter the genre.
