Critical mass

The combination of "resting my ankle" to facilitate healing (sitting in lounge chair) and eating low-grade foodstuffs (favorite is Ritz crackers with Lebanon Baloney and Gouda cheese) and lack of general activity (practically limited to attending my two girls' sporting events) has permitted me to reach what I consider; "Critical Mass!" A weaight that previous combinations of eating, lifting, etc, etc escaped my intentions. There are times we attempt to "bulk up," and other times to "Tone Down." Unfortunately I haven't lifted since April 2015 but was working a highly physical job 8-12 hrs/day from last Oct-Feb at a lean 232. The most I ever weighed was 256, eight years ago, but I had a 42 waist and 54 chest and was heavily lifting. Maybe it was this summer doing concrete work; pushing heavy wheelbarrows of stone at 240, that stimulated the old muscle to the fore. Whatever it was, it now is, and I have weighed over 260 now for 4 days. "I could still squeeze in my size 36 khakis today," I thought, as I sat here eating Salmon over greens, "but 260?" Calves, biceps and neck are 19" now, a bit winded when carrying that spare tire for my pick-up over 100 yards yesterday to the junk yard check-out, but with a glimmer of hope. Now would be the ideal time to start training for June. Yeah, maybe or not. I'm thinking old-school 40lbs winter gain type hype, or Vic Richards, or better yet, Bruce Randall. Anybody remember Bruce Randall? I have his book, maybe I'll finally read it. That's my thing now, 260 starting point, no HRT for 8 months, running clean, running lean! Critical mass is 260BW at 6', it's a beautiful starting point! Oh yeah, for dessert; a bowl of chili! Time for critical blast😜!

do you look like this?

I wouldn't advise a guy in his mid 50's to be trying to bulk up to 300lbs of fat. No offence man but measurements mean nothing if you're 20% bf. Forget the Bruce Randall gig - btw who was much younger than you when he was so fat - and lean out. For health reasons #1, and #2 you can't flex fat.

You need to diet and train back down. You will look bigger if you are leaner. I look bigger at 240 than I did at 265 simply because now you can see my muscles. And 19" arms, etc, is not that good for your weight. My arms are 20.5" not pumped and having not trained hard for a couple of months. Besides all that, women are all over me now. It's insane.
Diet down. You'll feel better, look bigger and get laid.

No its actually lee priest who was famous for putting on tons of fat in the off-season

Was just teasing the OP ;)

Yes amazing how he can let himself go yet get back into stage shape quickly...just like how Kevin Levrone did this year.

Some guys could lean up after excess fat..... levrone would put on muscle......either way you're right amazing genetics

Levrone did it in 6 months...and been out of the game for a good while. if he had a couple more months more training time he would have been tiptop but even when he got on stage at the O he looked good but his legs needed a lot of work.
