American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. I have been reading a whole lot lately, and this was a damn good book. But I warn you, it is extremely morbid. The Patrick Bateman that you saw played by Christian Bale is a PG version of the actual character.

So if you have a strong stomach, I would pick this up. Very entertaining and very well written.
