Guys, there's far too much of it, too much animosity, hating, wind ups and general bitching on the board these days.

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A TRAINING FORUM, if you have a beef with another member, do it in PM or meet up somewhere and knock each other's heads in but, please, keep it off the forum and don't drag A-E into the gutter, like some other shitty boards have gone.

MODS, if you see inflammatory posts, delete them and/or close the thread and PM the perps with a warning about their bahaviour, some of the posts lately have made me cringe and wonder about the mentality of the posters. No names but you know who you are, keep it civil guys and use the forum for it's intended purpose.

Scots, you've always been the voice of reason, and in my opinion, if there were to be a position for a moderator, I'd vote for you hands down. You play a key role and are imperative to this boards very being.

I get when you're being sarcastic, the comments about your pimp hand and hitting women and children, I laughed at because I took them in the proper context. They did get an inflammatory response from some members, which you proceeded to play on but I think enough people got it to realise you weren't serious.

I'm not looking to be a mod, I used to come here and have a laugh with some of the stories that were posted and, sometimes, learn something about training or nutrition and add some input of my own. Lately though, the board has lost it's focus and it's up to us to get it back on track.

I share your sentiment and appreciate your attempt to maintian a civility here; however, let me explain some things.

We've tried this "control" many times in the past. We've come to the conclusion and realization, that the General Discussion Forum is a place where people go to keep it real and express themselves as such. It's sort of "anything goes" in here, within reason of course.

That said, we censor things to a degree but decided a long time ago that this is also a forum for people to be able to get crap off their chests, talk about REAL life and personal experiences and should be able to keep it real, be themselves and forge friendships or even a comradary with those they seem to identify with.

In a platform such as the "General Discussion Forum", we encourage people to express things from the heart YET be courteous, respectful and perpetually cognizant of other's feelings. This is obviously a fine and difficult line to protect. We do the best we can to step in when needed but attempt to allow issues to work themselves out to a degree. We advocate free speech in here, with one exception, religious-based attacks as these offend people on a very visceral level. Sorry fellas, I'm a Christian and Admin here so if you do not agree with this particular policy, post elsewhere, as this one issue I will never budge on.

Additionally, when an individual is being overly crass, or disrespectful, or rude, or simply a worthless pain in the ass with nothing positive ot thought-rovoking to ever add, we warn them privately (some times openly to makle send a message to others) and then ban them if the activity does not cease.

I agree with the freedom of speech part but not to the extent that members are openly arguing with each other and using threatening behaviour towards eah other. I don't see the point of using a bodybuilding & fitness forum as a medium for such rants and behaviour, I'm sure there's places online specifically for this purpose.
The point I was trying to get across was that such bickering between members was detracting from the purpose of the board. In general discussion, it should be just that, a place where we can let each other know that we've bought a new car, my dog's had puppies, kid set a pb at high school sports etc, not the smack talk that's been filling it up lately.

I understand that the mod team ca't be like "net nanny" and censor every post that is deemed inflamatory or derogatory and that all members here are adults, allegedly. It's time we got the board back to the way it was and was intended for in the first instance.

This board has plenty of compartments to discuss bodybuilding. No shortage of that type of discussion. Freedom of speech doesn't really apply to net discussion boards either. And that's what's so great about this place being one of the few places to post wtf ever is on your mind. If somebody doesn't like it, all they gotta do is throw up a post and speak their mind.
