In light of the recent events tht have occurred

from what I saw, they were both given ample warning and just because of who they were, they were granted way more leaveway than usually given in the hopes that it would blow over. (with talking to them both in private and openly)
And no, it's very doubtful that you saw everything as some threads were moved off the open board due to the content, But one person strayed so far past the line that enough was enough and someone acted.
Not sure if it was just a drunken state as he mentioned or if it was seeing how far he could push.. well, he got his answer. What he said was so very wrong
The thing about running and modding at a board as compared to the regular members.. You guys only see about 1/10 of what goes on and you make your judgments on a very small part of any situation.
Being a mod is really not a fun job and for those who take it seriously like the gentlemen here.. It's not for glory cause there is none.. It's not because they have big egos.. Just get to know any of them and you'll find they are the same as you or I.
It's actually a shitty job because you have to put yourself in the middle of two guys that could have been once friends and both are friends of your and mediate a problem. About 8 times of of 10, someone will be pissed at you because of the way you decided.
Down the road they become friends again but your still the ass that decided against one of them..
So you spend half your time on these boards building relationship and when you become Mod or god forbid you own a board, You spend the rest of the time killing off those relationships one by one due to the actions you must take for keeping a board running as smooth as you can..
That all may seem off tract but it's not.. It just points out, members sometimes haven't a full understaning about a given situation. And the thankless bullcrap a mod has to go through

nino much thanks for taking time to write a very worthwhile post regarding your concerns and I feel that you make some very strong and valid points, but as Bass said members including you didn't see how much was said via pm's to all concerned.
As far as you stating in cases such as this that action should be taken immediately, I'm in agreement and in the future will not be as lax when crap like this pops up.
As for the members in question there has been numerous warnings and several temp bans on each. Every time myself and others get bombarded with e-mails from the guys in question promising not to get involved in this type of action again, so we let them back and in a few days or even hours it starts again. Some people just possess personalities that are anti social in nature to varying degrees.

Good post nino. I am a Vet and tried to add some small, positive, redirecting posts, but in reality was afraid to get caught in the middle and have a smack down burn-out set of posts like I had thrown at me earlier this year.
Thank you for your post. It's about time some members stepped up and put emphasis on the positive.
Would hate to lose this site to bashing, ignorance, or anything else for that matter.
