Watched it all, but it was only the part that you posted that talked about drugs. It's very eery hearing what Matarazzo was saying about drugs back then considering what just happened.

Most of those guys at that level from that time period, partied out of control too.

Guys from back in the day like Arnold took alot of stuff no matter what they claim and are still around. Ones from a little later like Coleman and Cutler arent that much younger than the 1990's era and they are doing ok. Theres more to it than just them just blameing it on one thing.

I met him at a show in Ottawa IL backstage, he was really one hell of a nice guy.

You're basically calling Mike a rec drug abuser. I can tell you I lived in Boston where he is from for many years and that was never the rumor. Now if you hang over on GH15 I'm sure every AAS user that drops from organ failure except Nasser is rumored to be a rec drug addict. Personally, I will leave room in my thought process that extreme abuse can lead to organ problems including the heart.

Could not agree more. Everyone wants to sweep crap under the rug in our community almost to the point of steroids being innocuous.

That said, of course there are the random rec users, irresponsible users, and the genetically predisposed but by and in large, the bb'ers that die young do so due to steroid abuse (directly or indirectly) - can't we just call it for what it is? Lol

I think it's tough to admit when in the thick of it. I know when I am heavy into it I'm a little blind to the risks. It's a 2 edged sword. It's like superman juice mixed with an extra slow poison in some ways. One minute you can be squatting a Volkswagen and the next huffing and puffing walking up 5 flights of stairs. Then you titrate it just right and all cylinders are firing and you can roll on the mat for 2 hours strait and bang weights hard a couple hours later. The damage, it's insidious. Damage happens slowly so it's easy to deny. Stay on hard and heavy for 15 years and there can be problems. Some can get away with it and others can't.

Dr Veejay. welcome back my man.

AND fucking awesome. Respect to Mike for that video. Enough BS about steroids are safe, or keep it on the hush. I love how he put it out there.

I have been told that most if not all these guys dying young had issues they might not have been aware of in the beginning. So a bad heart on 15+ years of sauce is not good! but either way it played a huge roll in it.
