Well I was going to vote for Obama because I thought I hated him less. Then after doing some more research on him and how he has voted on certain issues, I decided I hated him the same as McCain.
So who did I vote for? Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate. Yes I know he is not going to win, but quite frankly, my feelings for both McCain and Obama go way beyond hatred. I could not morally vote for either and have a clear conscience. So what would voting for a third party do? One thing my friends, the more votes that 3rd party candidate get it might wake up the average unintelligent non book reading mass media worshiping jackass that populates this country into realizing "Hey, other people support a different candidate, maybe next election I will too."
The two party system is DESTROYING our country. All a candidate has to do is make you hate them less. This means that they pay less and less attention to the needs and wants of the average person. They pay attention to corporate interests, and if they can simply sway the voting public little bit in their favor, they can get in office and continue to fuck us over.
IF we could get a viable 3rd party into the public eye, THINGS WILL CHANGE. They will be FORCED to succumb to the will of the people. So how do we get there? Easy my friends, support LOCAL 3rd parties in elections. Mayor, Town Council, ect. The more 3rd party candidates that show up in office, the more we can wake up the mindless public and get our people a REAL choice.
I did however vote democrat for senate and congress, as both of them are pro gun (in my state anyway) and don't seek the Nazi-like gun control policies of Obama and yet don't go along with the Neo-Conservative Bush agenda.
Just my opinion. But ladies and gentlemen, the fact remains, IT WILL TAKE EFFORT ON YOUR PART if you want to make a difference in this country. Get involved, make a decision without the mainstream media, vote in local elections, write a blog, engage in political discussions using logic and free thought, and all in all, END your complacency. True patriotism is not supporting a bad leader blindly. True patriotism is being involved and caring about your countries well being.
Think of it this way. If there is one clothing store in your town, then they are going to get business regardless. When a second one exists then you will have some competition, however it would only take such things as "well I like the layout of this store better" or "this one has a slightly better selection" to sway the average person. But only when there is more than two are they required to keep each other in check and give a better value to the consumer. The more stores you have, the more they are forced to compete, and the better it is for the consumer. The same principal exists in politics.
If more parties compete, the more the people win. More choices are ALWAYS better.
