New to the whole body building thing. I did MMA for almost ten years and now I'm done with that and looking into other things. Want to take my try at getting bigger. Used to be heavy (aka fat 300+ lbs) now I'm about 200ish. Was recommended by a friend to the board. Want to learn more about the lifestyle.

Welcome to AE and to Bodybuilding.

The lifestyle? There's only one sure way to do it. It has to be in your wiring that u fall in love with it. Everything else will fall in place in time but note...a very longtime. I'm sure MMA is similar. You don't learn that overnight and u simply don't put in the effort unless you live it.
This is an excellent board and it has everything you need except the fire. That u have to have.
Again, welcome. Everyone in here is top notch.

MMA for 10yrs...?! damn that's a long time.welcome over to BBing and the board.what styles were you using?

Shit guys I'm sorry I wasn't getting any emails telling me people were responding to this. I know its a little late but thank you all for the welcomes. Im looking forward to learning more about BB and lifting in general.

I completely agree with you. And I have that fire for sure. Being physical is the only thing that keeps me sane. Lifting or lighting someone up with a solid power combo for practice or competition. The fire I have lol. Thanks for the welcome!

Sorry about the delay Rocco, I did boxing when I was in high school for a few years to try and lose some weight and learn about the sport. I started kickboxing after trying it with a friend and realizing that I really enjoy tearing into muscle with my bony ass shins haha. I started BJJ the day after I first got arm bared. I told myself it would never happen again . But my primaries were BJJ and boxing. I am currently a tripped blue belt (have been for years now because I dont compete in comps) and still kickbox and box. More so kickbox now.
