Bob Paris was the 1st Gay BB to come out publically, i remember back in the late 80's i believe He and his partner appeared on the cover of Joe Weiders Muscle&Fitness together,

Gay or not that guy had one of the best physiques of all time, classic lines, symmetry, but he was shunned in BB competitions because of his Gayness.
 
He was Mr universe in 1983. He wrote a biographical called Gorilla Suit in 1997 after he had long retired where he exposed some of the inner workings of the IFBB. He didn't want to up the dose to play the size game, which as he claimed was being promoted by the Weiders and the IFBB. He also was discouraged from coming out in public. He never won a pro show despite being the cover model for Muscle and Fitness and pretty much all the Weider group publications. He tried to organize the BBers but failed and quickly saw his placings drop. I never saw him in person but guys that have claim he was so perfect he looked unreal. He married (??) Rod Jackson and later separated and now with some other guy. He is active in gay rights type shit and has run a series of non-profits. He's also an actor and now resides in Vancouver BC.
