The Dark Knight

Just saw it last night, thought I'd give a quick review.

There was a ton of hype about this movie. That, and the fact that (in my opinion) Batman Begins was so good, I was kinda worried that the movie might just flop.

It didn't disappoint at all. Heath Ledger was fucking awesome, easily a better Joker than Jack Nicholson. He basically ran the whole movie. The rest of the cast is stellar as well.

It's not some stupid comic flick with a bunch of campy humor or anything, it's very dark and sadistic. The ending was a little different, but once you get out of the theater and think about what the movie was trying to tell us about ourselves, you start to really appreciate how well put together the film was.

A great aspect to the movie is that it's CONSTANTLY changing pace. You can never guess what's about to happen next, so it makes the run time (2 and a half hours) seem to go by fast. It was highly entertaining and well worth spending a Saturday night watching.

Anyways, that's the gist of it, without giving too much away. It was a really kick ass movie. Just thought I'd share

The Dark Knight is an instant classic. This movie sets a new standard for ALL movies, not just for comic flicks. It takes you places that you normally dont think about, or dont want to think about. Think about the SAW movies in a way. People killing each other just to save themselves. Choosing between two wrongs. Thinking that there really are no good people or heroes left in the world. It makes you think that it cant get any more dark or hopeless. But then comes around in the end. The Joker in this movie is one of the indeed best acted villians of all time. So unpredictable and wouldnt think twice about taking a life, even his own. It almost makes you uncomfortable just to watch him at times. That is the ultimate villian and he was done incredibly by Ledger. Its a damn shame well never get to see him again. Batman Begins will be one of my alltime favorite movies and I really didnt know if it could be topped. But it indeed was. I plan on seeing it again haha. Dont think twice about seeing this movie..
