Damn, really sucks the oil drain plug fell out of my other engine and froze it.
Decided not to sue the shop, as I have used them without incident for the last 9 years. It's difficult finding a reasonable mechanic. Besides, my engine had 120,000 miles and the transmission was on the way out.
I paid $1,800 for another motor with installation. I got it on a good discount because it only had 47,000 miles on it.
The shop, to make amends, switched the new timing belt, gears, the cap and wires, and the water pump I put into the original motor to the new one.
Took it out for a cruise last night and it romps.
Damn, fast and fresh with a transmission that works great.
It was worth it.
But I still have fond memories of that $1,800 bucks!
