I posted a rant about bootstraps and the last response/advice I received was on February 8th. Although I did not see it as a problem (we never do from inside the glass) I considered your comments worthy of action. Suffice to say I haven't had a drink since then, changed my diet and got off the couch. Stepped on the scale today to notice I lost 9 pounds, quality of life has improved and things are looking up. Yesterday my 16 year old daughter, a Sophomore, had High School Swimming Championships. Seven high schools were represented. Overall she placed 9th in the 100 yard backstroke and 10th in the 200 yard Individual Medley with 2 of her second best times ever. Then I spent the rest of the day with my 11 year old daughter with her best friend, Dad and new German Sheppard puppy at the park. A very nice day. Yep, you spoke and I noticed, things are definately looking up!

This isn't about your daughter and the damn swim team you hide behind, or certainly not a runt puppy. You're still painting these bullshit bright happy facades overtop the phucked up mess that is reality within. This is about you.

Phucking stop already. Change the guy in the mirror or nothing will change. The facade is see through. You bleed through it. Stop.

Have a nice day.

Darkness is a little blunt but he makes a point. I'm sure a lot of us have been in a position in life where we question things and our actions are not what they should be. I've been in situations, recently actually where I was extremely disappointed in myself. I actually wept like a damn baby, but for once I was actually honest with myself. What I'm getting at is when you actually sit back and evaluate yourself, you're going to find some stuff you don't like. But only when you're honest can you bring about change in your life. Live the life you want, the one that will accomplish your goals. Not the one you're tempted to live. You're the only one who can bring change bro.

I can't spread any more rep to darkness right now otherwise I would....

Not drinking & losing 9 lbs is definitely a step in the right direction - congrats!

So now get your ass back in the gym and stick with it. Go easy since you been outta the gym so long. Go too hard and you will be so sore that you might stop. Three days a week, light weights, perfect form, 3 sets of 12-15 reps. No damn 3 hour, high volume shit needed - just get in there for an hour or so. Do some low intensity cardio also - 10-15 minutes, 3 times a week. Do that for one month. Then we can talk about stepping it up a bit. No excuses!

Here's your motivation. Next time you think about grabbing a beer, going to the bar, or reaching for a donut, look at this pic and tell yourself that doing that stupid shit is only gonna push you further away from looking like this. Hell, print it out and put it on your frig if you have to. Muscle memory dude - you did it before, now do it again!
